Career
Gerry is the co-leader of our M&A (Private) and Equity Capital Markets (Private) practices. He has been advising on capital raising transactions, mergers and acquisitions and capital structuring for over 30 years in key financial markets including Sydney, Hong Kong and London. He is a trusted advisor to our clients.
Gerry’s experience includes leading the Kain teams advising:
Cabrini Health on its divestment of its assisted technology business to Aidacare; MyVenue on its strategic partnership and liquidity event with Greater Sum Ventures; Aurizn on its acquisition of Pacific Aerospace Consulting; Adore Beauty’s (ASX:ABY) management team on its IPO and various investment transactions including the investment by Quadrant Private Equity; SILK Laser Clinics (ASX:SLA) on its proposed acquisition by Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API) (a subsidiary of Wesfarmers (ASX:WES)) by way of scheme of arrangement for approximately $180m; Engage Marine Holdings on various capital transactions, including its refinancing with PGIM; sportsmed on the sale of their hospital to Burnside War Memorial Hospital; Black Box on its acquisition of gsn; Atmo Biosciences on the investment by Breakthrough Victoria; Grasshopper Environmental on its sale to Cleanaway Waste Management (ASX:CWY); Ansarada (ASX:AND) on its acquisition of TriLine GRC; 24/7 Fuels on the sale of its business to Greenwich Capital Partners and Conplant Pty Ltd.; SiteSoft International Limited on the sale of its software, Lucidity to specialists, Ideagen; Silk Laser Clinics (ASX:SLA) on its acquisition of Beauty Services Australia; and Best Doors & Reliance Doors on its business sale to Swiss listed company Dormakaba.Gerry is an experienced board director and is frequently called upon to provide expert commentary around M&A trends in the mid-market. He particularly enjoys working with growing companies seeking investment or exit (or the investors that invest in them).
