He also currently advises several companies that positively transform the daily lives of Guatemalans, including those in the hospital and healthcare, education, energy, mining, hydrocarbons, banking, telecommunications, and agribusiness sectors. In the pharmaceutical sector, he has secured significant convictions against organized criminal groups operating clandestine laboratories dedicated to manufacturing counterfeit products.

Julio García-Merlos graduated from Universidad Francisco Marroquín (2003). He holds a postgraduate certificate in International Business from the University of Castilla-La Mancha (2003) and a master’s degree in finance and taxation from Universidad Francisco Marroquín’s Business School (2007).
