For over 15 years, Stéphanie Foulgoc has been developing her expertise in all areas of digital and creative law. She practices in both advisory and litigation matters. She is a co-founding partner of NEXT avocats.

Client-focused, seeking customized solutions, Stéphanie Foulgoc assists companies in all areas of intellectual property, innovation, privacy and entertainment laws.

Internationally orientated, she also assists international groups and foreign companies with the compliance of their activities in France and Europe.

Career

Stéphanie Foulgoc was admitted to Paris Bar in 2011.

Since 2016, Stéphanie Foulgoc has been a member of the Quebec Bar and has practised for two years in Montreal (Canada).

Prior to co-founding NEXT in 2020 with Etienne Papin, Stéphanie spent eight years at French independent a law firm, where she was Senior Counsel.

Prior to that, Stéphanie practiced abroad, in an international law firm in Milan (Italy), then in a collective management organization for performers and producers’ rights in Toronto (Canada), and at the European Commission in Brussels (Belgium).

Since 2023, she has been teaching copyright and entertainment law at the EMIC (Management school for cultural industries). From 2019 to 2023, Stéphanie Foulgoc was also senior lecturer in copyright law at Audencia Business School one of the Top 10 business schools in France and at ICART School (art and management school).

Stéphanie Foulgoc is a member of ITechLaw Association and of the legal committee of the French professional federation bringing together stakeholders in the influencer industry "Union des Métiers de l’Influence et des Créateurs de Contenu" (UMICC).

She is member of the France–Canada Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Lawyers of the Quebec Bar in France (AABQF), and the Young Bar Association of Montreal.

Since 2022, Stéphanie Foulgoc has been part of the authors team of Dalloz Actualiés in IT, data and communication law. Dalloz is one of the best renowned law publishers in France.

Education

In 2009, Stéphanie Foulgoc graduated with a Master degree in digital creations law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and Paris XI Sceaux Universities with Professor Pierre Sirinelli as Director and in 2008 with a Master degree in European business law from Paris II Panthéon-Assas University (ranked first in class, with Professor Louis Vogel as Director).

She also graduated with a Master degree in general private law at University of Ottawa in Canada.

In 2021, she completed the Practical Seminar on European Litigation – Proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union (Academy of European Law, Trier, Germany).
