Mehmet Kösoğlu is a Partner in Lexist’s Corporate/M&A department. Admitted to practice in Türkiye and England & Wales, and with a career spent in international law firms before joining Lexist, he represented clients in complex high-value cross-border transactions involving multiple Turkish and foreign regulatory authorities.

Active across the full breadth of sectors, Mehmet has a niche in the highly regulated financial services, particularly insurance. His insurance sector experience is deep, with experience advising prominent global industry players on matters ranging from bancassurance agreements to corporate restructuring, M&A and day-to-day corporate transactions.

On the banking side, Mehmet has also represented IFIs and DFIs, including IFC, EBRD, PROPARCO, and AFD, on various financings in Türkiye.

His trade law and dispute resolution experience completes his profile as an international corporate lawyer and solicitor, having represented major international clients in arbitration proceedings and WTO-related anti-dumping and safeguard investigations.

He holds an LL.M. from Istanbul University and is widely published on leading international legal platforms, including “Insurance and Reinsurance in Türkiye” by Thomson Reuters and “International Trade Comparative Guide” by Mondaq.
