Career
Peter Edworthy is a Partner specialising in international arbitration, with more than 15 years’ experience acting as counsel and advocate under all major arbitral rules.
His practice has a particular focus on disputes arising out of energy, construction, infrastructure and telecoms projects, often involving complex contractual structures, state or state-owned entities, and multi-jurisdictional enforcement issues.
Peter has extensive experience conducting arbitrations seated in leading international hubs, including London, Paris and Singapore, and regularly acts in proceedings under the ICC, LCIA and SIAC Rules. Alongside his arbitration practice, he advises on High Court and Court of Appeal litigation and has substantial experience of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, adjudication and expert determination.
He is an accredited Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is a recognised contributor to arbitration scholarship. Peter has published widely on international arbitration and co-authored the arbitration chapter on international arbitration in Dispute Resolution in the Energy Sector: A Practitioner’s Handbook (Globe Law & Business).
Peter also undertakes pro bono work, including representing individuals in Employment Tribunal proceedings, and volunteers at the Citizens’ Advice Bureau at the Royal Courts of Justice.
