Roberto Islas Vásquez is a Partner at Bufete Cuétara Canale, S.C., having joined the firm in November 2017 and being promoted to Partner in January 2026 in recognition of his consistent involvement in high-profile and strategic litigation matters. His practice focuses on constitutional (amparo), civil, commercial and administrative litigation, representing domestic and international clients in complex, high-value disputes before federal and state courts throughout Mexico.

Prior to joining Bufete Cuétara Canale, he spent more than seven years at López Velarde, Wilson, Hernández & Barhem, S.C., where he developed extensive experience in civil, commercial, administrative and constitutional litigation.

Throughout his career, Roberto has advised and represented leading national and international companies across a broad range of industries, including food and beverage, automotive, real estate, manufacturing, retail and financial services. He has extensive experience leading complex commercial disputes, constitutional (amparo) proceedings and strategic litigation involving high-value claims, precautionary measures, and matters with significant commercial and business implications.

Outside his legal practice, Roberto is actively involved in legal education, regularly teaching courses and delivering seminars on constitutional law, amparo and strategic litigation. He has participated as a lecturer for institutions including the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and Centro de Estudios Carbonell, among others.

Outside of work, Roberto enjoys golf, motorsports and technology. He is also an avid reader of legal literature and values spending quality time with his family.
