Thomas Berendsen is a partner at LXA Attorneys. He leads the Intellectual Property and IT and Privacy teams. He assists companies in developing and protecting their trademarks, patents, copyrights and other intellectual property, with a focus on commercial success.

Thomas has extensive experience in advertising law and unlawful press publications. He also advises on IT contracts, cloud services, cybersecurity and legislation such as the GDPR, Data Act, AI Act and Digital Services Act.

With his knowledge of intellectual property law, Thomas supports clients in building robust brand portfolios, protecting innovations and combating counterfeiting. He provides strategic advice and conducts proceedings, ensuring that companies make the most of and protect their rights in an ever-changing market.

Thomas is a member of the Benelux Association of Trademark and Design law, Thomas is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA). Prior to becoming member of the IBA, Thomas was member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA). He is also member of the European Community Trademark Association (ECTA). He is a regular speaker at conferences of these organizations.
