Executive Chairman

Davinder is the Executive Chairman of Davinder Singh Chambers LLC and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SIAC.

Davinder’s legal experience spans more than four decades. He has an active international arbitration practice involving complex commercial disputes, international clients and multiple jurisdictions. He has advised and/or acted in numerous institutional and ad hoc arbitrations.

At the 2025 National Day Awards, Davinder was awarded The Meritorious Service Medal (Pingat Jasa Gemilang) as the Chairman of the SIAC.

At the Chambers Asia-Pacific Awards 2014, Davinder was conferred the “Outstanding Contribution to the Legal Profession” Award. He is the only litigator in Singapore to have been ranked by Chambers & Partners as a “Star Individual” in Dispute Resolution: Litigation in the Global Guide for seventeen consecutive years (2010 to 2026) and in the Asia-Pacific Guide for sixteen years (2011 to 2026).

Davinder is also recognised in the “Hall of Fame” for both Dispute Resolution and International Arbitration by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific. He was most recently named Southeast Asia Litigation Lawyer of the Year at the Legal 500 Southeast Asia Awards 2026.

Davinder is recognised as a “Litigation Star” in both Commercial & Transactions and International Arbitration by Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific. In 2019, he became the first lawyer in the Asia-Pacific region to be inducted into the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Hall of Fame. He was subsequently named International Arbitration Lawyer of the Year at the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Awards 2024. Most recently, he won the Asia-Pacific & China Lawyer of the Year – Commercial and Transactions Award at the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific & China Awards 2026 in Beijing.

According to Chambers and Legal 500 researchers, Davinder is “number one in Singapore”; “a bona fide star performer”; “in a class of his own” and a “standout figure in arbitration as well as litigation"; “an exceptionally good lawyer - always top of the tree.”

Davinder also sits on the Board of Directors of the Singapore International Mediation Centre. He was in the first batch of Senior Counsel appointed by the Singapore Supreme Court in 1997.

Davinder was appointed Senior Counsel in 1997. He graduated with an LLB (Hons) from National University of Singapore in 1982 and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1983.
