Commercial and Civil Litigation
Position
Litigation Executive at Witan Solicitors specialising in commercial and civil litigation. Ellie's work predominantly includes tenancy and contract disputes, partnership and other business disputes, and employment law matters, with wider experience across harassment claims, court sanctions and a broader range of civil proceedings. She is approachable, organised and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to clear communication and to keeping clients informed and reassured throughout the progression of their matter.
Career
Ellie joined Witan Solicitors in January 2026 as a Litigation Executive and works as part of the firm's commercial and civil litigation team, supporting fee-earners and clients across a broad range of contentious matters from initial instruction through to resolution. She plays an active role in case preparation, drafting correspondence and court documents, reviewing evidence, and liaising with clients and third parties. Ellie enjoys the variety that litigation offers and has a particular interest in how disputes evolve and are resolved through both procedural and tactical decision-making.
Prior to joining Witan, Ellie completed the LLM Legal Practice (SQE1&2) at The University of Law, Birmingham, where she selected electives in Advanced Real Estate, Commercial Law, Employment Law, Mergers & Acquisitions and Business of Law providing strong subject-matter grounding for her commercial and civil litigation practice. She passed SQE1 on her first attempt and is progressing towards qualification as a solicitor.

Ellie also served as Class Representative during her LLM, acting as the liaison between her cohort and faculty, and has built strong organisational and time-management skills through balancing her studies with leadership roles in part-time employment.
Leisure
Outside of work, Ellie volunteers as a Youth Justice Panel Member, helping to promote rehabilitation among young offenders. She also enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through weight training and distance running, regularly challenging herself by taking part in half marathons.
