She advises domestic and international clients on a broad range of commercial and corporate law matters, including commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), business structuring, corporate governance, consumer protection, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and personal data protection. She heads the Firm’s Commercial and Corporate Law Department, leading multidisciplinary teams and providing strategic legal advice to companies across a wide range of industry sectors.

María Isabel Molinares is a Partner in DG&A Abogados’ Commercial and Corporate Law Department. She joined the Firm in 2016 and was appointed Partner in 2023.

She has more than thirteen years of professional experience. She began her legal career in the Intellectual Property Department of Lloreda Camacho & Co. (2012–2013) and subsequently practised in the Intellectual Property Department of Cavelier Abogados (2013–2016), where she developed extensive experience in the structuring, protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, the management of trade mark and patent portfolios, and the representation of clients in trade mark infringement and unfair competition proceedings before the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC).

Following her appointment to DG&A Abogados, she broadened her practice to encompass commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate governance, consumer protection, regulatory compliance—including SAGRILAFT and the Business Transparency and Ethics Programme (PTEE)—and personal data protection. She advises both domestic and international companies across a wide range of industry sectors on the structuring and implementation of their business operations in Colombia.

She has been involved in the negotiation and implementation of complex commercial and corporate transactions, as well as the drafting and negotiation of strategic domestic and cross-border commercial agreements. She also represents companies in administrative proceedings before the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce, particularly in matters relating to consumer protection and intellectual property, and has participated actively in conferences, professional training programmes and business association committees focusing on regulatory compliance, including SAGRILAFT.

María Isabel leads a team of specialist lawyers and provides ongoing strategic advice to domestic and multinational companies. Her practice is distinguished by the delivery of commercially focused, pragmatic and comprehensive legal solutions, combining strong technical expertise with a thorough understanding of her clients' business objectives
