Parag is a part of the Intellectual Property (IP) and Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) team at the firm. He advises and represents clients on a wide range of matters relating to IP laws, with specialization in matters relating to trademarks, copyrights, designs, domain names, and geographical indications. He works with a diverse clientele, ranging from individuals, start-ups and small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, and has been representing clients in a diverse array of industries, including fashion & apparel, cosmetics, FMCG, hospitality, media & entertainment, gaming and education. Parag’s expertise covers the entire lifecycle of IP rights, encompassing prosecution, portfolio management, enforcement, and dispute resolution, including oppositions, cancellations, infringement actions, and anti-counterfeiting measures.

In addition to the IP practice, he advises clients on a range of technology, media, and data protection matters, with a specific focus on virtual digital assets (VDAs), sports and gaming. His work in this domain includes assisting international and domestic clients in undertaking applicable legal compliances specific to their industry under the applicable Indian laws, which also includes drafting of legal opinions and advisory notes concerning applicable compliances, advising on matters arising under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the associated rules etc.

Parag also has extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial and IP-related agreements, including licensing and assignment agreements, production and artist agreements, software development and service agreements, and technology related contracts. He frequently advises clients on brand protection strategies, domain name dispute proceedings, and the formulation and implementation of privacy policies, data retention frameworks, and terms of use for online platforms.
