Commercial Property

Clare is a Partner in our commercial property team based in our Glasgow office. She deals with a broad range of transactions across multiple sectors, including commercial acquisitions and disposals, leasing for landlord and tenant, investment portfolio management and corporate support.

In particular, Clare has developed expertise in the leisure and hospitality sector and is experienced in dealing with transactions involving hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which has given her an in-depth knowledge of the specific legal issues involved.

She also acts for both landowners and developers in often substantial development transactions, including student accommodation projects and residential site assembly and strategic planning.

Lately she has been involved in a number of high-profile office leases, including several of Scotland's largest leasing deals of 2023/24 and the winner of CoStar's lease of the year in Scotland.

Highlights

Acting in the sublet of circa 28,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, one of the largest Scottish leasing deals of 2023.

Acquiring and then disposing of a portfolio of pubs in Edinburgh for a well-known operator.

Advising on the Scottish aspects of a cross border corporate support deal valued at circa £16.5m, which involved working closely with the client’s English legal advisors.

Acting in the acquisition and disposal of a prominent student accommodation development project in Glasgow.

Acting in the sale of a retail investment property for £16.8m.
