Thomas Klemme is a Partner in the Private Wealth Disputes team. He is a skilled and commercially astute litigator specialising in high-value contentious trusts and estates as well as art and cultural property disputes. Thomas acts for individuals, families, trustees, beneficiaries, art dealers, and collectors — both in the UK and internationally — on a wide range of complex and sensitive matters involving private wealth.

Thomas has a particular specialism in advising clients on reputationally sensitive matters where family dynamics, fiduciary responsibilities and trust and estate administration are in dispute.

He has extensive experience litigating claims through to trial in the High Court and the Court of Appeal, and is known for his strategic, pragmatic, and client-focused approach.

Thomas is an full member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and a member of the Contentious Trusts Association (ConTrA).

He is recognised by Legal 500 2026 as “a brilliant lawyer” and “one to watch”, and was also named one of eprivateclient’s 2025 ‘NextGen Leaders’.

Thomas is a regular speaker at conferences and a contributor to leading industry publications, writing on topics including proprietary estoppel, inheritance disputes, and the regulation of the art market, with recent commentary published in the Financial Times, In Trust Magazine, and Christie’s Bulletin for Professional Advisors.
