Vilius Bernatonis

FCIArb Vilius Bernatonis is the Managing Partner and Chair of the Baltic Board, with over 25 years of legal experience across banking and finance, energy, international arbitration, and corporate law. Widely recognised as a leading legal expert in the region, Vilius advises major local and international financial institutions, as well as companies of national strategic importance. He regularly acts as both arbitrator and counsel in complex, high-value international disputes, bringing deep legal insight and sound strategic judgement to each case. Beyond his legal practice, Vilius is a respected public voice on banking, finance, and economic policy. He is frequently invited to speak or moderate at high-level conferences, industry forums, and policy events, where he shares insights on financial regulation, market trends, and economic developments in Lithuania and the wider region. Paulius Zapolskis

Dr. Paulius Zapolskis is a Partner, Attorney at Law, and Head of the Energy Industry Group. He is a leading expert in energy law, advising both public and private sector clients on complex regulatory, commercial, and transactional matters. Paulius has deep expertise in oil and gas, including LNG supply and terminal operations, as well as renewable energy projects such as hybrid (wind and solar), storage, waste-to-energy, and biofuel developments. His work includes structuring long-term supply contracts and guiding clients through project development and regulatory compliance. He played a key advisory role in the development of Lithuania’s first offshore wind park in the Baltic Sea, supporting the Ministry of Energy in shaping the legal framework. Paulius also contributed significantly to the successful implementation of the Baltic States’ long-awaited electricity grid synchronisation with continental Europe – the largest energy infrastructure project in the region to date. Paulius holds an LL.M. in European and Comparative Law from Ghent University and a doctoral degree in contract law, underpinning his legal practice with a solid academic foundation. He has also completed professional and academic traineeships at prominent institutions, including the University of Lucerne and the European Commission.
