Managing Associate

Olimpia graduated from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Law, and was admitted to the Bucharest Bar in 2011. After completing her two‑year traineeship and the National Institute for Lawyers’ Training, she qualified as a fully licensed lawyer (avocat definitiv) in 2013 and also holds an LL.M. in Tax Law (2015).

Over the past decade, Olimpia has developed a strong and steadily advancing career within top-tier Romanian and international legal environments, progressing from Associate and Senior Associate roles to her current position as Managing Associate at Băncilă, Diaconu și Asociații SPRL (EY member firm).

Olimpia’s practice is centered on tax litigation and administrative disputes, advising and representing leading clients across the pharmaceutical, retail, automotive and financial sectors. She has extensive experience in complex tax audits, VAT and transfer pricing disputes, high‑value enforcement proceedings, as well as Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAP) under EU law. Olimpia regularly designs litigation strategies, coordinates multilayered case portfolios and leads teams of lawyers involved in high-stakes tax controversy matters.

In addition to her core work in tax litigation, Olimpia has gained substantial experience in large-scale cross-border corporate investigations and compliance assessments, acquired during her tenure with another international law firm. This work included matters involving allegations of tax evasion, corruption, embezzlement and money laundering, as well as advising on internal compliance structures and the development of integrity and anti‑bribery frameworks.

Olimpia remains committed to legal scholarship, contributing to specialized publications and supporting impactful pro bono initiatives.
