Position
I’m a partner in the serious injury team, based in our London office. I specialise in complex cases, representing both adults and young children who’ve sustained life changing injuries. I understand that these injuries can have a profound effect on the lives of both the individual and their loved ones, and I dedicate myself to making sure that those affected get the support and compensation they need to move forward.
I’m particularly experienced in handling brain injury claims and am the National Brain Injury Coordination Group Lead for Irwin Mitchell. I’m a Fellow and Accredited Brain Injury Specialist with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
In 2021, I was a finalist for the Personal Injury Awards' Catastrophic Injury Lawyer of the Year Award. I am passionate about rehabilitation and have extensive experience of securing interim payments for my clients to ensure that their rehabilitation can start as soon as possible.
My experience in personal injury claims has seen me ranked in Chambers and Partners, one of the UK’s leading independent legal directories, who state: “Sarah is very personable and very understanding. She's knowledgeable about brain injury.” I’m also ranked as a Leading Partner in the field of personal injury by Legal 500, an equally renowned legal directory, who’ve remarked on my "…very caring, intelligent and practical way of dealing with cases.”
The most rewarding aspect of my work is to see in practice the difference that good rehabilitation can make to my clients’ (and their families’) quality of life. It's particularly rewarding for those who've suffered life-changing brain injuries. Clients are at the heart of everything we do at Irwin Mitchell, and seeing a client walk or speak again for the first time in years makes everything worthwhile.
In addition to my case work, I have close links with Headway, the brain injury charity. I was a Trustee of Headway London for 9 years and currently sit on the board of the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) and am keen to raise awareness of acquired brain injury across London and the UK.
I work within a team of highly skilled solicitors of all levels of experience. We often share our knowledge and experiences, and this is invaluable to the development of our team. I feel proud to work with such highly skilled and dedicated colleagues, who do all they can to support our clients.
