Fırat Aydin is a Partner at Egemenoğlu and leads the firm’s Financial Restructuring & Insolvency practice. With more than 20 years of experience in banking and finance law, he previously held senior roles at Turkland Bank and DenizBank. He has successfully led enforcement and recovery proceedings involving not only classical movable and immovable assets, but also complex asset structures such as surface rights over hotels and similar facilities, as well as hydroelectric power plants. Leveraging statutory mechanisms that exist in legislation yet are rarely applied in practice, he has pioneered highly specialized enforcement and monetization processes in the Turkish market. Fırat’s deep industry insight, combined with his extensive transactional and dispute-resolution experience, makes him a strategic advisor to financial institutions, investors, and corporates. He specializes in banking and finance law, financial restructuring, enforcement and bankruptcy, and provides clients with practical, negotiation-driven solutions that safeguard both creditor and debtor interests. He also provides comprehensive advisory services in debt settlement and restructuring, designing negotiation strategies, standstill frameworks, and multi-creditor workout structures. One of his distinguished areas of expertise includes option-based restructuring models, where immovable properties securing a bank loan are transferred to the bank with an option right. Fırat has led numerous such projects, developing creative settlement paths that focus on de-risking the creditor’s position while preserving the borrower’s commercial continuity. Fırat is particularly recognized for his ability to unlock stalled negotiations, resolve high-value disputes through consensual mechanisms, and structure legally sound yet commercially pragmatic solutions in distressed-asset scenarios. He is deeply involved in multi-party restructuring processes, asset recovery strategies, enforcement litigation, and the coordination of complex creditor–debtor dynamics.
