Najma Dunnett is a solicitor specialising in non-contentious construction work. She also has experience with complex dispute resolution matters and international work.
Although Najma has a wealth of experience in all construction matters, she specialises in non-contentious construction law. Her clients include developers, investors and contractors, where she drafts and advises on a range of documents including development management agreements, building contracts for domestic and international projects, and professional appointments. She has a deep understanding of the construction industry, having begun her career at John Laing.

In addition to her experience in non-contentious work, Najma has been involved in complex dispute resolution matters including adjudication, arbitration, litigation and mediation, helping to secure successful outcomes for her clients.

Najma also has insurance industry experience, having worked at an architects’ insurance mutual, where she dealt with numerous high-profile architectural practices.

She also has extensive experience as in-house counsel for international architectural and engineering practices where Najma was responsible for their EMEA and APAC offices. Latterly she was the senior associate at an international engineering practice, where Najma was responsible for international projects and their Middle East offices. Her pragmatic, commercial advice helped secure payment of significant outstanding fees on large-scale engineering projects.
