Plamen Yotov is a distinguished EU & Competition law expert at Kambourov & Partners, where he has led the EU & Competition practice since 2020. Having joined the firm in 2009, Plamen has built extensive experience in a wide array of competition law matters, including dominance, cartels, state aid, abuse of dominant position, merger control, compliance, and dawn raids.
Plamen is particularly focused on unfair competition and antitrust regulation, and he expertly navigates both domestic and EU legal frameworks. His sectoral expertise spans retail, energy, consumer products, TMT, financial services, and healthcare, providing comprehensive competition law advice tailored to each industry’s unique needs.
Recognised as a Future Leader in Competition in Bulgaria by Who’s Who Legal, Plamen combines legal practice with a commitment to legal education. He has contributed to international moot court competitions, having participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (2011–2012) and later advising and coaching the Sofia University team. Plamen has served as an arbitrator at the Vis Moot since 2015 and as a Memorial Judge at the FDI Moot since 2014. Notably, he was part of the winning team at the 2013 Central and Eastern European Moot Court Competition in EU Law, held under the auspices of the Court of Justice of the European Union. In 2011, he also won the National Student Writing Contest organised by the Bulgarian Commission on Protection of Competition.
