My practice areas include:

- dry and wet shipping; - ship arrest; - maritime recovery; - casualty management; - ports, terminals and logistics; - ship sale and purchase; - advising on terms and conditions; - offshore renewables; - emerging maritime decarbonisation regulation; and - cargo-related disputes.

I provide advice to a wide range of maritime clients including ship insurers, owners, managers, cargo interests, charterers, shipping lines, freight forwarders and ports / terminals on both contentious and non-contentious matters. This work also includes advising on draft clauses and contracts from charterparties, sale / purchase contracts and other shipping-related projects.

I have acted in hundreds of disputes in my career applying a resolution-focussed philosophy. Accordingly, and whilst there are few authorities I can claim credit for, career highlights include successful outcomes in high value ship and cargo casualties, defending successfully defending / resolving numerous personal injury / fatality claims against ship owners, dealing with claims by and for Ports in relation to infrastructure damage and advising in relation to the use of accommodation barges for asylum seekers.

My clients include ship insurers, owners, managers, cargo interests, charterers, shipping lines, freight forwarders and ports / terminals.
