I am a Partner in the cargo and logistics team within the marine practice group at Hill Dickinson LLP. I have 17 years of experience in handling claims involving the transport, storage and insuring of goods and carriers. My practice is international. I have UK based clients and overseas clients within all the categories of work with which I am involved.

I manage claims through pre litigation and up to trial / tribunal. I also have a strong insurance coverage practice working for global and local insurers on the cargo / property side as well as the liability book of business.

My practice consists of a broad range of clients from the following sectors;
- Cargo insurers and freight liability insurers (coverage work and litigation – defending freight
liability claims) e.g: CNA, Zurich, Mitsui, Beazley, AXA, Allianz.
- Recovery agents – pursuing cargo recovery claims eg: WE Cox; EC3 Marine; Pequod Associates;

- Brokers – recovery claims / referrals to (un)insureds eg: Bannerman Rendell; One Broker;

I Have extensive litigation experience handling high value and complex claims. I work with general/composite insurers, captives, Lloyd’s and London insurance markets and global corporates. Liaising with the senior claims teams within insurers, as well as brokers, loss adjustors and with general counsel/senior management of the insured. I specialise in claims arising from the international and domestic carriage of goods by road, sea and air, including recovery claims, liability matters on behalf of insurers, and policy coverage advice.

• Pursue claims concerning the damage / loss of goods from package goods to commodities (grain, sugars / metals)
• Work on claims in Arbitration and High Court jurisdictions.
• Hande claims arising under bills of lading; charter-parties, international conventions and trading conditions.
• Advised on a range of instructions from insurers in the Lloyd’s, Company and International markets relating to cargo, recovery and transportation liability.
• Have a strong network of international lawyers including regular panel attendances at international conferences.
• \strong London insurance market presence and reputation.
• Manage my own team of 5 lawyers(including myself).
