Career

I am a partner in the Marine Business Group in London and the Deputy Head of Hill Dickinson’s London office. I also lead the Hill Dickinson Sanctions Team.

I have specialist expertise in sanctions, and act for a wide range of clients in both the marine and corporate sectors. I am best known for my work in sanctions delisting applications with the FCDO, OFAC and the EU Council and have successfully delisted clients in extremely complex, high-profile sanctionings, particularly where this impacted fleets of vessels (see below notable cases reported by Lloyd’s List and Tradewinds).

I am also known for developing Hill Dickinson’s trade sanctions product, and now run a number of sanctions retainers, principally for insurers, owners and traders.

I also advise on a wide range of dry shipping, trade and insurance matters. I have extensive experience in commercial contracts disputes involving charterparty, bill of lading, MOA, COA, pooling agreements, marine insurance and sale contracts, as well as shipbuilding and rig disputes.

I am regularly involved in running large-scale litigation and arbitration, often with multi-jurisdictional issues.
