Career

Since joining I&D Law Firm in 2019, Laila Elibrachy has developed a multidisciplinary practice advising local and multinational clients across various sectors, such as, construction, telecommunications, employment, hospitality, aviation, competition, and trade matters.

In recent years, Laila has increasingly focused on data protection and privacy compliance. She advises multinational clients on regulatory obligations under Egypt’s data protection framework, cross-border data considerations, and governance structuring. She recently completed the Data Protection Officer Training certified by the Personal Data Protection Center, further strengthening her technical and regulatory expertise in this area.

Laila also leads the team advising a major agricultural seed company on the full spectrum of its corporate and operational activities in Egypt, including regulatory, commercial, and compliance matters.

Prior to pursuing law, Laila studied Political Science and Psychology at McGill University. During that period, she interned at a leading Cairo law firm and at Eversheds Sutherland in London. She later completed an accelerated LL.B. at the University of Edinburgh.
