Miguel Marques de Carvalho is a Partner at Miranda & Associados with more than 20 years of experience. His practice focuses on Competition Law and European Union Law, advising clients on complex merger control procedures, anti‑collusion investigations, and the application of national and EU competition rules across various regulated sectors.
Miguel holds a Law degree from the University of Coimbra School of Law (2005) and an LL.M. in Competition Law from King’s College London (2010). He also served on the Board of the General Assembly of the Portuguese Association of European Law between 2009 and 2015, reflecting his strong engagement with the academic and institutional development of EU law in Portugal.
Miguel has authored and co‑authored numerous publications in leading legal works. His contributions include chapters in European Competition Laws, extensive commentary on the Portuguese Competition Act in Comentário Conimbricense, and analyses for major compilations such as 100 Anos de Arbitragem – Os casos essenciais comentados and Responsabilidade Civil Extracontratual das Entidades Públicas. His writings cover topics such as merger control litigation, collusion risks in public procurement, European case law commentary, and judicial review in competition matters.
