Matthias joined Tiberghien in 2015. He studied law at KU Leuven (Bachelor and Master) and specialized in Tax Law at U.L.B. He mainly focuses on investment taxation in the broad sense. He assists clients holding investment portfolios, clients investing in private equity and clients investing in public or private investment funds or other movable assets. He advises both on income taxation (including withholding tax, Cayman tax, etc.) and on other taxes such as the financial transaction tax and securities account tax. In addition, he also advises investment funds and their managers, banks, and insurance companies. He also has extensive knowledge of corporate income tax. The cases he handles include national, international, and European law aspects. He was an assistant in “European Tax Law” at KU Leuven for 3 years. He also assists clients in tax procedures, both administrative and judicial.
