Roman Marchenko advises Ukrainian and international companies on international commercial and investment arbitration. He represents clients in institutional and ad hoc arbitration proceedings and provides comprehensive support in the recognition, enforcement, and setting aside of arbitral awards before Ukrainian courts and in foreign jurisdictions.

His arbitration practice includes acting in proceedings under the rules of UNCITRAL, LCIA, ICC, SCC, LMAA, VIAC, among other leading international arbitral institutions, as well as in investment disputes conducted under the ICSID Convention.

Roman Marchenko has extensive experience in complex cross-border disputes across the energy, infrastructure, international trade, aviation, defense, shipping, real estate, and construction sectors. His work includes disputes related to aircraft financing and leasing, air carriage, defense contracts, and the operations of state-owned and private defense industry enterprises.

A significant aspect of his practice involves preparing expert opinions on Ukrainian law for foreign courts and international arbitration proceedings. He is regularly engaged as a Ukrainian law expert in international litigation and arbitration proceedings in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions.

Roman Marchenko also acts as an arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings and Ukrainian arbitral tribunals, serving as a sole arbitrator or as a member of arbitral tribunals in commercial and investment disputes.

Another distinct area of his practice is disputes related to bankruptcy and financial restructuring, including cross-border insolvency proceedings and creditor rights protection. He has been licensed as an insolvency practitioner in Ukraine since 1999 and is officially certified to act in bankruptcy cases of state-owned enterprises and companies with majority state ownership, enabling him to effectively handle disputes involving public sector entities.
