Professional experience
Pavel Velchev has more than 25 years of professional experience advising domestic and international clients on complex regulatory, corporate, commercial and competition matters. His practice has a particular focus on telecommunications and technology, M&A, competition law, regulatory and administrative proceedings, contractual matters and insolvency.

His professional background combines private practice, regulatory and in-house experience. At the State Telecommunications Commission, he was involved in proceedings concerning disputes between telecommunications operators relating to interconnection and access. Subsequently, as Head of External Relations, Regulation and Competition at Bulgarian Telecommunications Company, he led a multidisciplinary team of lawyers, financial specialists and technical experts and was involved in the company's key regulatory and competition projects.

Since founding Velchev & Co in 2009, Pavel has focused on advising leading domestic and international companies, financial institutions and investors on complex transactions and regulatory matters, with particular experience in international M&A, competition and commercial law, as well as insolvency proceedings.
