Managing Partner

Péter Lakatos, managing partner at Lakatos, Köves & Partners, is a seasoned trial lawyer and a leading expert in the Hungarian telecommunication, media, and technology sectors.

Since 1996, he has been a partner at Clifford Chance and served as managing partner of its Budapest office from 2006 to 2009. Péter played a central role in the development of Hungary’s telecom regulatory framework since the 1990s, representing some of Europe’s largest telecom companies in the Hungarian market. He also advised on Hungary’s EU accession process, contributed to telecom legal frameworks in several Southeast European countries, and supported the legal aspects of the Hungarian TV digitalization.

Péter’s leadership extends beyond law, having chaired the Transparency Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary and received the “Excellent Lawyer” award from the Hungarian Bar for his three decades of service.
