Senior Associate

Heidi Rand-Karu is a member of the firm’s Dispute Resolution & Risk Management practice group and also involved in the work of the firm’s Life Sciences & Healthcare as well as Industrials and Trade & Consumer Goods sector groups.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝘄. Heidi has been involved in the team representing clients in disputes concerning the constitutionality of amendments to legislation.

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝘄. Heidi has worked at the European Court of Justice and at the European Court of Auditors. She obtained her second master’s degree in European law at the College of Europe. In addition, she has studied the European Union and International law at the University of Nantes. With this knowledge, Heidi has helped clients in disputes both before the European Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights, and in European Union regulatory and state aid matters.

𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. As one of the leaders of the Sorainen Student Academy, Heidi has given a course at the University of Tartu to encourage law students to improve their skills and participate in moot court competitions. In co-operation with the European Law Students Association (ELSA) she also holds lectures to spread legal knowledge among high school students. With the aim of empowering students to profit from extra-curricular activities, Heidi has been a board and audit committee member of ELSA Tallinn and ELSA Estonia.
