Carlos Gil is a Partner at ECIJA El Salvador and leads the firm's Labour practice.

He advises national and international companies on labour law, corporate matters, regulatory compliance, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), and real estate law. His multidisciplinary approach enables him to design comprehensive legal strategies that ensure regulatory compliance while supporting clients' commercial objectives.

Throughout his career, Carlos has developed extensive experience advising companies operating across Central America on the establishment, expansion and regionalization of their businesses. He has participated in complex transactions involving banks, construction companies, energy distribution and commercialization businesses, security firms and telecommunications operators.

He has also played a significant role in major private and public infrastructure projects, providing legal advice to some of the most prominent construction companies in El Salvador and Latin America.

Due to his close collaboration with companies employing large workforces, Carlos has built extensive expertise in labour law, collective bargaining, labour litigation and union crisis management. His practical, business-oriented approach has positioned him as a trusted advisor for employers seeking strategic solutions to complex employment matters.

Beyond his legal practice, Carlos contributes to academia as a university professor, teaching courses on electronic commerce law, electronic signatures and international tax planning. His professional work has also been recognized by leading legal publications and international legal directories.

He obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, as well as a JD from the Universidad José Matías Delgado. He has also participated in courses and training given by the Attorney General of the Republic of El Salvador in conjunction with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on issues related to the fight against Money Laundering and Assets.
