Career

Edward Salcedo is a Partner at ECIJA Dominican Republic and leads the firm’s Dispute Resolution, Real Estate, Labour, as well as Sports and Entertainment Law practices.

He is an attorney specialized in dispute resolution, labour and sports law. He currently leads a robust transnational sports law practice, advising and coordinating the defense of numerous Major League Baseball teams operating in the Dominican Republic and other countries across the region.

Throughout his career, he has developed key expertise representing local and international clients in civil, commercial and labour disputes, including asset recovery, contractual disputes, damages claims, indemnities under Law 173, enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, and arbitration proceedings.

He also has significant experience structuring preventive legal strategies, particularly in labour risk management, drafting complex agreements and advising on reorganization and separation processes involving senior executives.

Additionally, he has experience assessing legal contingencies in the context of due diligence processes as part of complex local and international transactions, integrating litigation, labour and real estate analysis.

In academia, he has served as Professor of Judicial Private Law at Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), contributing to the education and professional development of future legal practitioners.

His commitment to the legal sector is also reflected in his active participation in international organizations, including his role as former Vice-Chair of the Young Lawyers Interest Network of the American Bar Association (ABA), as well as his participation in specialized conferences.
