About

Nicolas Mosimann is the Managing Partner of Kellerhals Carrard’s Basel office and a trusted advisor to companies and investors in the life sciences, healthcare, and technology sectors. His practice focuses on complex transactional and corporate matters, including M&A, financing rounds, licensing agreements, research collaborations, and commercial law. As co-head of Kellerhals Carrard’s Life Sciences Practice Group, Nicolas combines in-depth legal knowledge with a nuanced understanding of the regulatory and business challenges faced by clients in these highly innovative industries.

Drawing on significant industry experience as General Counsel of MoonLake Immunotherapeutics (Nasdaq: MLTX) and as a board member of pharmaceutical and software companies, Nicolas provides clients with actionable insights that bridge the gap between legal strategy and business success. His hands-on approach enables him to effectively guide both emerging and established businesses through high-stakes transactions. Legal500 describes him as: "Very dedicated and motivated. High level of expertise. Always flexible and pragmatically focused on the client's interests. Solution-oriented. High level of social competence."

In addition to his focus on life sciences, Nicolas has substantial expertise advising on technology-related projects, including those involving cloud computing, IoT, blockchain/DLT, open-source software, and data protection (including EU GDPR compliance).

As a founding member and co-head of Kellerhals Carrard's Startup Desk, Nicolas is an enthusiastic supporter of startups and scaleups. He is well-versed in the unique needs of early-stage companies and the expectations of venture capital investors, providing comprehensive legal support throughout the growth journey.

Beyond his work in deep tech, Nicolas is committed to the art world and cultural institutions. He advises clients on legal and transactional matters in these fields and is actively involved in fostering dialogue at the intersection of art and law. He is the co-organizer of the annual Art & Law conference, held in cooperation with the Faculty of Law of the University of Basel.
