Career

Anwaar has been a legal researcher at the Ministry of Legal Affairs where she practiced for more than ten years in the Sultanate of Oman and is well versed in dealing with the different Ministries. Her mandate included progressively more responsible regulatory roles and administrative law matters, including serving as Deputy Head of the Section of International Treaties and Cooperation in the General Directories of Legal Affairs, on an ad hoc basis.

Since obtaining her master’s degree in the United Kingdom and in Germany, Anwaar has been focusing on commercial law, maritime law, real estate transactions, issues of tender law and commercial contracts.

Anwaar has participated in the review, re-drafting, and amendment of a number of regulations and proposed laws, including a comprehensive review and recommendations concerning portions of the Oman tender law. She has drafted Ministerial Decrees and participated in “working groups” providing recommendations to the Majis Al Shurah and other governmental bodies.

Anwaar speaks Arabic and English.

Memberships

Registered as an advocate in the Sulanate of Oman from 2018 up to date. Active member of the Omani Associate for the Protection of Intellectual Property in the Sultanate of Oman. Active member of the Intellectual Property Pillar at the Council for Scientific Research in the Sultanate of Oman.

Education

Higher Diploma in the Law of the Sea which is equivalent to MBA from the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg, Germany. Masters in International Commercial and Maritime Law (LL.M) from the University of Wales in United Kingdom. Bachelor’s degree of Intellectual Property Law with Honours A (LL.B) from Sharjah University, United Arab Emirates and holds an International Foundation Program (Modules ex.: English, Economics, Math) from Leeds University (UK).
