Michael is a Partner at Shahid Law Firm, where he leads the Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice group. With 18 years of extensive experience in capital markets, corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, employment, and liquidations, Michael has established himself as a key figure in the legal landscape.

Since joining Shahid Law Firm in 2017, after an impressive 11-year tenure at one of the world’s largest international law firms in Cairo, Michael has focused his transactional work on initial public offerings, private placements, and high-stakes mergers and acquisitions. He is known for his ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and drive major projects to successful completion.

Regularly acting as the lead lawyer in the transactions he oversees, Michael has a proven track record of advising leading multinational companies on large cross-border transactions, ensuring that their business objectives are met while adhering to all legal requirements. His strategic insight and client-centered approach have made him a trusted advisor in the corporate sector.

Assisting in the IPO of a number of companies in Egypt, including but not limited to: Juhayna Food Industries Company, a leading food and beverage entity, as issuers counsel in connection with its IPO and offshore/onshore private placement. Palm Hills Development Company in connection with conducting a due diligence and the preparation of the public subscription notice. Amer Group in connection with conducting a due diligence and the preparation of the public subscription notice. Edita Food Industries Company in connection with its IPO transaction. In addition, providing the necessary legal services for the company related to EGX disclosure requirements. Assisting a major sugar manufacturing company in its potential public offering procedure. Representing a major company in the merger with a petroleum company for a total consideration of USD 2.532.000.000. Representing one of the largest real estate companies in Egypt in a private placement process. Assisting a private US company in its tender offer for the acquisition of a publicly listed company. Representing one of the biggest listed real estate companies in Egypt for an acquisition of a majority share of one of the largest companies in the country. Representing foreign entities in the acquisition of private sector companies. Representing various local clients in issuance of depository receipt and registration with the Stock Exchange. Conducting due diligence over various private and publicly held companies.
