Career

Mathilde Saltiel joined August Debouzy as a partner in February 2026. She previously practiced at Willkie Farr & Gallagher and later at Latham & Watkins, where she was promoted to partner in 2021.

She provides both advisory and litigation support on EU and French competition law matters.

She advises clients on all aspects of merger control, including the notification of transactions before the European Commission and the French Competition Authority. She also represents clients in antitrust investigations and related litigation, and provides guidance on State aid and competition compliance matters.

Mathilde is a recognized thought leader in competition law. She serves as Vice-Chair of the European American Chamber of Commerce Antitrust Committee and frequently speaks at industry conferences on EU and French competition matters.

She has received multiple professional recognitions in competition law, including Institut Choiseul’s Futur du Droit (2025), Lexology Index's Competition Future Leaders, GCR’s Top Women in Antitrust (2025), and Law.com’s Rising Stars - Europe’s Best Up-and-Coming Female Lawyers (2022). She was also selected among 30 next-generation business lawyers in 2021.

She is also a Young Leader of the French-American Foundation and a Young Leader Engagé of the Aspen Institute (2025).
