Michał specializes in labour and social insurance law.

For over 20 years, he has been advising Polish and international companies on individual and collective labour law, in particular on employment optimization, conducting group layoffs, and transfers of workplaces. He advises on all aspects of HR management, the selection of forms of employment, including the employment of board members.

Michał assists clients in developing HR strategies and employee management schemes, including in matrix structures. He supports employers in implementing internal policies, procedures and regulations, both those required by law and those introduced at the initiative of employers. He represents employers in disputes with employees before labour courts.

For many years, he has been actively involved in the development of the Polish HR community. He is the President of the Polish HR Association (PSHR), a member of the Board of HR Directors of the Lewiatan Confederation and the National Code Administrator of the Polish Direct Selling Association (PSSB).

Michał is a frequent speaker at conferences dedicated to legal issues related to employment, including those concerning CSR and ESG. He is a lecturer in the postgraduate Compensation & Benefits program and Human Capital Management program at Łazarski University, and in the Executive MBA Direct Selling/MLM program at the Pedagogium University of Social Sciences. In 2025, he was invited to join the faculty of the newly launched MBA in HR program at the Institute of Economic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In 2026, he became one of the lecturers of a course on pay transparency organized by the Faculty of Management at AGH University of Science and Technology.

He is recommended in employment law in the Rzeczpospolita Ranking of Law Firms and has also been recognised in the Chambers Europe 2026 ranking in the same category.

Michał joined Łaszczuk & Partners in 2005 and has been a partner since 2013.

Michał Chodkowski is a 2006 graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński University in Warsaw. In 2010 he completed the advocates’ training programme and was admitted to the practice of law as an advocate.
