Career

Uzi is a senior partner in Lipa Meir and head of the Corporate Department. His practice focuses on a broad variety of corporate and finance practice areas.

Uzi has specialized expertise in mergers and acquisitions transactions. Uzi has led complex transactions that require professionalism, creativity and the ability to find common ground that can achieve successful completion of the transaction. Uzi handled, among other things, transactions in the food and dairy field, the field of beverages, the leasing field, the field of construction and entrepreneurship and many other areas.

Uzi also specializes in financing, collaterals and loans, including advising lenders such as private equity funds and other financial institutions and borrowers, on financing transactions. During his career, Uzi led large-scale financing transactions, including a complex collaterals mechanism and unique legal solutions. Uzi have represented both the financing institutions and the borrowers, on financing transactions amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars.

Another practice area in which Uzi has specialized expertise is the law of co-operative societies including advising major corporations in this sector, mergers and acquisitions of cooperatives, cooperative societies’ liquidation, disputes relating to cooperative societies and ongoing advice to enterprises that are incorporated as cooperative associations. Uzi has many years of experience and in-depth knowledge of the particular laws applicable to cooperative societies.

In addition, Uzi has been involved in many insolvency cases, including rehabilitation and restructuring of companies, creditor arrangements (through and out of court), receivership and liquidation. Uzi served as a liquidator and receiver in many insolvency proceedings and advised to insolvency practitioners in the largest insolvency cases that took place in the last two decades in Israel.

As part of his areas of practice, Uzi handles complex litigation, including class actions, appeals to the High Court of Justice and representation in proceedings before the civil courts, arbitrators, mediators and other tribunals. Uzi handled dozens of large scale class actions and represented plaintiffs and defendants in large legal proceedings.

Uzi served as a lecturer on Administrative Law at Tel-Aviv University and the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya as well as on Insolvency Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Uzi holds the rank of Colonel (reserve) in the Military.
