Partner Dr. Ziv Preis co-heads our “Cross-Border M&A, Banking & Finance department” has extensive knowledge and experience on cross-border mergers and acquisitions in variety of industries, joint ventures, high-tech, investment funds and on-going corporate matters.  Ziv has represented domestic and international private and public companies, institutional investors, universities, funds and entrepreneurs.

Previously a Harvard graduate and a corporate attorney at White & Case LLP in New-York, Ziv is regularly instructed by public and private companies, and institutional investors with regards to the full gamut of their transactional and corporate needs. Clients also tap into his insightful counsel in relation to private equity and venture capital investments as well as on-going representation of high-tech companies and entrepreneurs.

Lipa Meir & Co has made a strong push into the hi-tech space, most recently highlighted by its combination with Yingke Israel – Eyal Khayat, Zolty, Neiger & Co in June 2019; a move that brought to the team Eyal Khayat and Amir Zolty. Of particular note, Khayat and Zolty have particular expertise in cross-border matters involving China, which further bolsters the firm’s discrete international transactions practice, led by Gary Copelovitz. The hi-tech team has recently been involved in a number of mergers in the tech space and financing transactions involving international funders. Lipa Meir & Co enters the rankings this year off the back of the maturation of its 2018 merger with Preis Baharav & Co. The investment funds and institutional investor practice is led by Ziv Preis, who has acted in the establishment of impact funds and venture capital funds. Preis also advises major Israeli institutional investors on fund investments. The firm also has an active transactional practice.

Lipa Meir & Co remains in growth mode following on from its merger with Preis, Baharav & Co in 2018. In 2019, the firm absorbed Eitan Mehulal Sadot, Advocates & Patent Attorneys’s capital markets and securities department, which included corporate finance partner Eitan Shmueli. The firm also added a three-lawyer team from Yingke Israel – Eyal Khayat, Zolty, Neiger & Co., Law Offices, which included Amir Zolty and new China practice head Eyal Khayat. The new arrivals underpin the firm’s increasingly prominent profile for international work, particularly China-related matters. Ziv Preis jointly heads the cross-border M&A group and recently handled deals involving the life sciences, financial services, and food and beverage sectors. Corporate head Uzi Mor and international lead Gary Copelovitz are also noted.
