Career

Benedetta serves as a specialist in cross-border and international matters for the firm’s clients. She advises medium and large companies, including multinational corporate groups, on complex legal issues spanning multiple jurisdictions.

Benedetta’s role centres on coordinating international legal strategies, supervising networks of foreign counsel through her connections with Lexicom and the International Law Association. Her expertise in international and European Union law enables her to navigate complex cross-border transactions and disputes.

In the past year, she has assisted in significant, extraordinary operations and acquisitions. She currently leads three international arbitrations with a combined value of €2 billion and manages several court disputes in Milan.  Notably, she secured a €60 million award in ICC arbitration proceedings concerning a €1 billion share transaction in favour of our clients. She assisted and represented some of the biggest companies in their sectors in disputes with a total case value exceeding €1 billion.

Bendetta’s international experience spans jurisdictions across the US, EU, and Asian markets, including Germany, France, Spain, the UK, the USA, India, Japan, Russia, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Ethiopia, and Mozambique, often requiring personal travel to coordinate with clients and local counsel.

She also serves as a legal expert for international organisations, including UNESCO, WIPO, WHO, the World Bank, and the EU. In a major recent appointment, she has been engaged by UNESCO to lead the 2026-2027 periodic reporting exercise for all Italian communities on intangible cultural heritage.

She is also an associate professor of European Union law at the University of Milan-Bicocca and coordinates EU-funded Jean Monnet programs, including a Centre of Excellence awarded by the European Commission, and has authored several books on international law and intellectual property.
