Senior Associate Solicitor

Joanna is experienced in all areas of Family Law. She is our trained practitioner in Resolution Together, which follows the ‘one lawyer, two clients’ model to provide a more collaborative route to divorce or separation. She is based in our Herne Bay office.

Joanna Lawrence is a Legal 500 Recommended Lawyer who is recognised in the 2024 rankings as being a "key lawyer" in our "friendly, approachable and hardworking" Family Law Team.

Joanna prides herself on an empathetic approach to practice, recognising that clients in need of legal advice on family matters are often going through a range of emotions and need careful support as well as excellent legal advice to help then navigate their individual circumstances.

Joanna was admitted as a Solicitor in 2005 and initially worked in a small general high street practice in Surrey, before moving to a larger practice in Greater London 2009 where she was able to focus on her Family Law as a specialism. She also developed expertise as a criminal defence solicitor, recognising that this can complement family Law in several areas, particularly matters under the Family Law Act where applications for injunctions are made.

Joanna has been expanding her advocacy practice in recent years and has represented her clients to contested final hearing in Children matters.

Joanna is a member of Resolution. Members are committed to Resolution's Code of Practice which promotes a constructive approach to the resolution of family disputes that considers the needs of the whole family.

Joanna completed her Law Degree at Keele University in Stoke on Trent before undertaking her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London, where she received a commendation.
