Michalis Kosmopoulos is head of Intellectual Property and Data Protection departments at Drakopoulos.

Diligent and immensely knowledgeable, Michalis has broad experience counseling international businesses across a wide range of industry sectors on Intellectual Property, Regulatory, Compliance, Corporate Governance and TMT matters. He provides actionable insights and up-to-the minute advice helping clients make strategic decisions in grey zone areas where there is a heightened risk.

Michalis holds the IAPP CIPP/E and CIPM certifications all under ISO 17024 and is a designated DPO for companies in Greece and the EU. He recently joined the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center’s List of Arbitrators.

He holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. in Commercial Law, both from the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Michalis is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), a member of the Pharmaceutical Trademarks Group (PTMG), a member of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) Committee of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Athens Bar Association.
