Adv. Yair Assael co-heads the Litigation Department at S. Friedman, Abramson & Co. and heads the firm’s Communications Department. With over three decades of experience in civil and commercial litigation and a strong track record in complex, high-profile disputes.

Yair regularly represents clients in complex, high-profile disputes before all levels of the Israeli courts, including frequent appearances before the Supreme Court, as well as in arbitration and mediation proceedings. Over the course of his career, Yair has appeared before the Israeli Supreme Court on hundreds of occasions, many of them involving complex disputes across a wide range of fields, including commercial and corporate law, contracts, real estate, tenders, communications, and administrative law.

Yair is widely recognized for his expertise in governmental and public tenders, representing both public bodies and private bidders in complex proceedings, disputes and strategic advisory matters

As Head of the firm’s Communications Department, Yair advises media and broadcasting organizations on regulatory matters, freedom of expression, and related issues. He also serves as an arbitrator in commercial disputes, and as a judge in the High Tribunal of the Israel Basketball Association. In 2022, Yair was shortlisted as a final candidate for appointment to the Israeli Supreme Court and, in that capacity, appeared before the Judicial Selection Committee.
