Harald Sommernes' primary practice area is restructuring and insolvency. Sommernes is a senior associate at Ro Sommernes and has been part of the firm’s insolvency and restructuring team for the last fifteen years. Sommernes is regularly court-appointed as trustee in bankruptcy proceedings and has broad experience in representing creditors and debtors in debt negotiations and restructuring cases.

Sommernes was employed as an associate in Ro Sommernes in June 2011 and became partner in 2025.
