Of Counsel

Zakaria Shvelidze is Of Counsel at EY Law practice in Georgia, having joined the team in September 2023. He brings over 20 years of experience in dispute resolution and national and international labour law. Before joining EY, Zakaria was a Partner at the prestigious Georgian law firm Gvinadze & Partners LLC.

Zakaria is also a distinguished legal educator, delivering judicial training across Georgia, Central Asia, and the Caucasus since 2014, including training for Supreme Court judges. He regularly participates as a speaker and panel chair at international conferences, such as the 2024 World Congress of the International Society for Labour and Social Security Law in Rome and the Labour Law Research Network Conference in Bangkok.

He has authored numerous national and international academic publications, including a Kluwer Law monograph on Georgian labour law, commentaries on the Labour Code, and manuals for judges and lawyers on international labour standards. In 2024, he published the second edition of his series, "Georgian Judicial Practice on Labor Disputes: Compilation of Decisions."
