Career

Sam specialises in international arbitration with a focus on construction and engineering disputes, in particular in the energy sector. Trained in both civil and common law, he is recognised as “an esteemed construction specialist who stands out for his remarkable expertise in contract negotiations and dispute resolution across the sector”, Lexology Index Thought Leaders, Construction & Real Estate.

He has acted as counsel or arbitrator in numerous international arbitration proceedings conducted under the major arbitration rules and governed by a variety of substantive laws, including in relation to disputes concerning the construction of industrial facilities, power plants, highways, airports, oil and gas facilities, and offshore structures, and the supply of industrial, power generation, and marine equipment. He also assists clients with the management of claims in construction projects, and on the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts.
