Satvir Sahota is a Director in the Immigration Department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors, where she supervises a committed team of lawyers delivering high-quality representation across the full spectrum of immigration, asylum and human rights matters.

With more than 13 years’ experience, Satvir is recognised for her expertise in complex asylum and human rights law, including private and family life applications, trafficking and modern slavery claims, and detention, deportation and bail matters. She has a particular interest in representing individuals held in immigration detention or prison and is known for her commitment to securing their release. Her practice is characterised by a strong focus on supporting vulnerable clients, including those with mental health conditions and survivors of torture and trafficking.

Satvir represents clients at every stage of their matters, from initial applications and appeals to strategic litigation by way of judicial review. Her judicial review work includes challenges relating to decisions of the Single Competent Authority in trafficking cases, unlawful delays in immigration and asylum decision-making, unlawful denial of appeal rights, unlawful detention and false imprisonment, as well as removal decisions.
