Career

Mary advises both listed and unlisted companies and institutions on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and venture capital and private equity fundraisings. She regularly supports clients in acquisition strategies for growth and innovation as well as on transactions that enable the realisation of investment value and successful exits.  She has a wealth of expertise in corporate governance for both publicly listed and private companies, helping them navigate and implement best practices and procedures suited to their particular needs.

Mary has in-depth knowledge of the publishing and digital media sector, regularly speaking at industry events and trade fairs, most recently hosting workshops and giving lectures on the legal risks and opportunities arising for the evolving technologies and AI which are reshaping the publishing and digital media industries.

Mary is a Trustee of the Royal National Institute for Blind People (RNIB), where she chairs the People, Culture & Safeguarding Committee, and is a passionate advocate for disability inclusion.

At the Women & Diversity Awards 2025, Mary was "Highly Commended" for Law Firm Leader of the Year - National / Regional Law Firm.

Education

Mary graduated from the University of St Andrews with a first class degree in History in 2006 and gained distinctions in both her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course.
