Position

Stavros Pavlou is the Executive Chairman of Patrikios Legal with 40 years’ experience in corporate and commercial litigation and arbitration and represents clients in complex dispute resolution matters in Courts and Tribunals in Cyprus and abroad. Also, he specializes in cross-border transactions involving financial, corporate and commercial matters, International Trusts, asset protection, restructuring and insolvency, real estate and international tax planning.

Career

Stavros is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR) and a practicing barrister before the Commercial Court of the DIFC. He is a member of many international associations including the IBA, STEP, LCIA and ICCA and included in international arbitration centres. Recently, he was appointed by the ICC International Court of Arbitration as the Court Member for Cyprus. He is also appointed as Delegate at the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR and serves as the Regional Representative of the IBA Litigation Committee in the Middle East and Africa. Stavros is a Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Cyprus Arbitration Day conference and he actively participates in international webinars, and conferences. Finally, he authors numerous articles in international publications.

Education

Stavros Pavlou obtained a BSc Degree in Economics of Industry and Trade from the London School of Economics in the UK in 1983 and a Graduate Diploma in Law from City University in the UK in 1984. He was then called to the English Bar by Gray's Inn in 1985 and he was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 1986. He is a fellow of CIArb since 2017. Mr Pavlou is a very experienced litigator and handles complicated cross-border transactions involving international groups, banks and other organizations.
