Career

Yannick Geryszewski joined Wijn & Stael as partner in 2025, concentrating his practice on IT, data, and contracting. He supports clients in drafting and negotiating all types of IT and commercial agreements, including collaboration, partnership, distribution, licensing, AI and other IT and commercial agreements. Yannick also guides clients through implementation and compliance processes relating to EU and national laws and regulations, such as the EU Data Act, the EU AI Act, and the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). He regularly advises on the IP/IT aspects of mergers and acquisitions, with a particular focus on transition services agreements (TSAs), IT carveouts, and data migrations.

Attorney at the Intersection of IT, Technology, and Law Yannick stands out for his calm, big-picture approach and remarkable ability to zero in on the underlying technology: “The technology and the business case set the parameters for any agreement. I draft contracts with those fundamentals in mind and negotiate in a constructive, agreeable manner, always considering the all-important long-term relationship between the parties involved. I appreciate the blend of technology, underlying business case, and law, and relish the challenge of always reaching productive agreements within the established constraints.”

From Cybersecurity to Smart Buildings Yannick has in-depth knowledge of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), an EU regulation designed to bolster cybersecurity and ICT security in the financial sector. He also has a particular interest in quantum computing, smart buildings, and AI.
