Angela Gorton leads the Employment team in our Leeds office, providing clear, practical, and commercially focused advice on all aspects of employment law. She works closely with senior leaders and HR professionals to resolve complex HR issues efficiently, including recruitment, termination, and related executive matters.

Angela has over 20 years’ experience advising on contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Her practice covers complex HR investigations, discrimination claims, unfair and wrongful dismissal, and representation in Employment Tribunal proceedings. She acts for a wide variety of clients, including large PLCs, owner-managed businesses, charities, and not-for-profit organisations across sectors such as hospitality, housebuilding, logistics, care, and scientific industries. Angela also serves as Deputy Registrar for the Leeds Diocese, supporting the Bishop, diocesan boards, parishes, church schools, and trustees on employment and ecclesiastical law matters.
